Ketchikan, Alaska Ketchikan is the salmon capital of the world. The canneries are
busy and the stream below Creek Street's rustic boardwalk bustles with life.
Visit the ancient grove of Totem Bight, the largest collection of authentic
totem poles anywhere. |

Juneau, Alaska Juneau was founded as a gold-mining camp in 1880. It became Alaska
territorial capital in 1906. Government activities are central to Juneau’s
economy, employing some two-fifths of the workforce. Fishing and forestry are
also important, as is tourism, particularly because of cruise ships plying the
Inside Passage. |

Skagway, Alaska The port of Skagway is a popular stop for cruise ships, and the
tourist trade is a big part of the business of Skagway. The White Pass and Yukon
Route narrow gauge railroad, part of the area's mining past, is now in operation
purely for the tourist trade and runs throughout the summer months. |

Tracy Arm, Alaska Tracy Arm is a narrow fjord that winds through towering mountains
and massive glaciers for over thirty miles. At the end of this fjord is an
amazing view of the Sawyer Glacier. Cruises through Tracy Arm allow the
passengers to witness the "calving" of icebergs as giagantic chunks of ice break
away from the glaciers. |
